07 / Why it works here
Built for South Florida sand.
Our sandy soils drain fast and hold almost nothing. Water and fertilizer run straight through. Compost gives that sand something to hold on with.
08 / Compost FAQ
What growers ask us.
Where can I buy bulk compost in Miami?
You can buy bulk compost from Melly's Recycling, a local compost producer serving Miami-Dade County. We sell wholesale compost by the cubic yard to farmers, landscapers and plant nurseries across South Florida, with pickup at our yard.
How much does bulk compost cost in Miami?
Pricing depends on how many cubic yards you need and how often you buy. Request wholesale pricing and we'll send a quote built around your volume and season.
Is your compost safe for growing vegetables in Florida?
Yes. Every batch is hot-composted at 131°F or higher for the time EPA standards require, which kills pathogens and weed seeds. Lab results for the batch you're buying are available on request.
Is compost good for sandy soil in South Florida?
Yes. South Florida's sandy and rocky soils drain fast and hold few nutrients. Compost adds organic matter that holds water and nutrients in the root zone, which can mean less irrigation and less fertilizer.

Is your compost made locally in Miami?
Yes. Our compost is made in South Florida from food scraps collected from Miami restaurants, hotels and venues, mixed with vetted wood chips from local tree and landscape crews. It's local soil, made from Miami's own organic waste.
What is your compost made from?
Clean commercial food scraps and vetted, untreated wood chips. We never use biosolids, treated wood, or unknown loads, and contaminants are screened out before it ships.
Do you sell compost to landscapers and nurseries in Miami-Dade?
Yes. We supply wholesale compost to landscapers, plant nurseries and growers across Miami-Dade for landscape beds, sod, topdressing and potting mixes. Repeat buyers can set up a standing order.
How much compost do I need per acre?
It depends on your crop, your soil and how you apply it. Tell us what you're growing and how much ground you're covering, and we'll help you work out the right amount.
Can I get a compost lab report?
Yes. We share the latest lab results for the batch you're buying, so you can see exactly what's going into your soil.
